Premiere of Dexter

from 1 October 2006 to 22 September 2013

Dexter is an American crime drama series that ran on the Showtime network for eight seasons. Michael C. Hall starred as Dexter Morgan, a Miami police forensic analyst who secretly kills murderers who escaped justice, following a strict code taught by his adoptive father. It was based on the novel Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay. The show was praised for its dark humor, the central performance and for seasons built around rival killers, such as the Trinity Killer. The finale, however, was received poorly by many viewers. A follow-up series, Dexter: New Blood, was broadcast in 2021.
