Series of military conflicts in the West African Sahel (mainly Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger), with spillovers in Benin, Togo, Mauritania, Algeria, Côte d'Ivoire; involves this states, Tuareg secessionists, outer international forces and Salafi jihadist. It took place on 15 February 2011. The setting was Sahel. It was part of the War on Terrorism and the War against the Islamic State.
