Premiere of The Fairly OddParents

The Fairly OddParents is an American animated series created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. It follows Timmy Turner, a ten-year-old boy neglected by his parents and tormented by his babysitter, who receives two fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda, that grant his wishes. The wishes usually backfire and create comic trouble that Timmy must put right, and the fairies are bound by rules that limit what they can do. The characters first appeared in shorts on the anthology series Oh Yeah! Cartoons before becoming a full series. It ran for many seasons, making it one of Nickelodeon's longest-running animated shows, and it led to TV films and later spin-offs.
