Supernatural is an American television series created by Eric Kripke that aired for fifteen seasons, from 2005 to 2020, first on The WB and then on The CW. It follows two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles, who travel across the United States in a black 1967 Chevrolet Impala hunting demons, ghosts and other creatures of folklore. As the series progressed, the story expanded to include angels, apocalypses and a continuing struggle between heaven and hell, with a strong emphasis on family loyalty. It became one of the longest-running American fantasy series and built a devoted fan community. A prequel series, The Winchesters, appeared in 2022.
