Premiere of Peaky Blinders

from 12 September 2013 to 3 April 2022

Peaky Blinders is a British crime drama set in Birmingham after the First World War, created by Steven Knight and shown on the BBC. It follows the Shelby family, who run a criminal gang, and above all Thomas Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, a veteran of the trenches with grand ambitions. The series was loosely inspired by a real street gang that operated in the city in the late nineteenth century, though the stories are fictional. It mixes violence, family conflict and politics, and it is known for its stylish look and its soundtrack of modern rock. The show ran for six series and a film continuing the story followed.
