Grand Theft Auto V is an open-world action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, released in September 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is set in the fictional state of San Andreas, with the city of Los Santos modeled on Los Angeles, and lets the player switch between three criminals, Michael, Franklin and Trevor, as they carry out heists. The game was praised for its scale, its satirical story and its detailed world. It broke sales records on release and later appeared on newer consoles and on PC. Its online mode, Grand Theft Auto Online, has remained popular for years, and the game has sold well over two hundred million copies.
