Low intensity asymmetrical conflict between the agriculturalist Lendu and pastoralist Hema ethnic groups in the Ituri region of the north-eastern DR Congo; subconflict of Second Congo War (main phase 1999–2003; started in 1972, continues to present). It began in 1999 and lasted until 2003 (about 4 years). The setting was Ituri Province. It was part of the Second Congo War.
