The Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet was formed in 2013 by four civil society organizations: the Tunisian General Labour Union, the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, the Tunisian Human Rights League and the Tunisian Order of Lawyers. Tunisia's democratic transition was then in crisis after the assassinations of two opposition politicians, and political parties were deadlocked. The Quartet brought the main factions to the negotiating table, and the talks led to the adoption of a new constitution in early 2014 and to free elections later that year. For this contribution the Quartet received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015.
