Construction of Phu Quoc International Airport

2 December 2012

Phu Quoc International Airport serves Phu Quoc, Vietnam's largest island, which lies in the Gulf of Thailand off the country's southwest coast and belongs to Kien Giang province. The new airport was opened to replace an older, smaller airfield and to handle the growing number of visitors to the island, whose beaches, resorts and national park have made it a prominent tourist destination. It provides domestic flights to cities such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi and has also received international services. Details of its construction are limited in the information available here.
