Taylor Lautner was born on 11 February 1992 in Grand Rapids. An American actor from Michigan, Lautner began acting as a child and appeared in the family film The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 2005. He became widely famous as Jacob Black, the werewolf friend of the heroine, in the Twilight film series, from 2008 to 2012, which made him a teen idol. He later starred in the thriller Abduction and took parts in television comedies and series. He is also a martial arts practitioner. His fame is closely tied to the Twilight franchise, which was one of the most successful young adult film series of its time.
