Miley Cyrus was born on 23 November 1992 in Franklin. An American singer, songwriter and actress, Cyrus rose to fame as the star of the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, in which she played a schoolgirl with a secret pop-star identity, alongside her father Billy Ray Cyrus. She then built a solo career with hits like Party in the U.S.A. and, after deliberately breaking from her child-star image, the 2013 album Bangerz, which included Wrecking Ball. She has explored pop, country and rock, releasing albums such as Plastic Hearts. Her single Flowers topped charts around the world in 2023 and won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year. She is also an advocate for LGBTQ and homeless youth causes.
