The War of the Fourth Coalition was a conflict in the Napoleonic Wars between France and an alliance of Prussia, Russia, Britain, Saxony and Sweden. Prussia entered the war in 1806, concerned about growing French influence in Germany after the creation of the Confederation of the Rhine. Napoleon destroyed the Prussian army at the twin battles of Jena and Auerstedt in October and entered Berlin, from where he proclaimed the Continental System, a blockade against British trade. The war continued against the Russians in Poland and East Prussia, with the bloody battle of Eylau and a French victory at Friedland. The Treaties of Tilsit ended the war and left Napoleon dominant in Europe.
