Wikipedia Asian Month is an annual online editing contest in which volunteers write articles about Asian topics, usually during the month of November. It began as a way to improve coverage of Asia on Wikipedia, which was thinner than that of Europe and North America, and it has been run by volunteer organisers from many Asian countries with support from the Wikimedia community. Participants who reach a set number of quality articles are awarded postcards or small prizes. The 2017 edition was one of the early rounds of the contest, and it helped establish the event as a regular feature of the Wikimedia calendar.
