Stranger Things is an American science fiction horror series created by the brothers Matt and Ross Duffer for Netflix, which premiered in July 2016. It is set in the 1980s in the small town of Hawkins, Indiana, where a boy disappears and a girl with psychokinetic powers, known as Eleven and played by Millie Bobby Brown, appears. A group of friends, along with adults including a police chief played by David Harbour and a mother played by Winona Ryder, find themselves up against secret government experiments and a parallel dimension called the Upside Down. The series is full of references to the films and music of the decade, and it became one of Netflix's most-watched shows. It concluded with its fifth season at the end of 2025.
