Gravity Falls is an American animated series created by Alex Hirsch for Disney Channel and later Disney XD. It follows twelve-year-old twins Dipper and Mabel Pines, who spend a summer with their great-uncle Stan in the odd town of Gravity Falls, Oregon, where they discover strange creatures and mysteries. The show mixes comedy with horror and a hidden series of ciphers and cryptograms that fans worked to decode. It was praised for its writing and characters. Hirsch had planned it to end after two seasons and forty episodes, and it concluded in early 2016.
