Premiere of Father of the Pride

from 31 August 2004 to 27 May 2005

Father of the Pride was an American computer-animated sitcom produced by DreamWorks Animation for NBC. It followed a family of white lions, led by the father Larry, who performed in a Las Vegas magic show based on the real-life act of the entertainers Siegfried and Roy, who appeared in the series as themselves. Larry was voiced by John Goodman. It was the first computer-animated series shown in prime time on American network television. The show drew attention in part for its adult humour, and its production was affected by the serious injury of Roy Horn in 2003 during a performance, an event that came before its launch. It was cancelled after a single season.
