Premiere of Lost

from 22 September 2004 to 23 May 2010

Lost is an American television series that premiered on ABC on 22 September 2004, created by J. J. Abrams, Jeffrey Lieber and Damon Lindelof. It begins with the crash of Oceanic Flight 815 on a mysterious tropical island, where the survivors must cooperate to stay alive and face unexplained phenomena, including a smoke monster and the secretive Others. The show used flashbacks and later flash-forwards to explore the characters' pasts, and it mixed adventure, science fiction and mystery with an unusually complex plot. It was a major hit and won several Emmy Awards, including for best drama series in 2005. It ran for six seasons until 23 May 2010, and its ending divided viewers.
