HEC Paris is a leading French business school, established by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry to train managers and executives for a modernising economy. Its name is an abbreviation of Ecole des hautes etudes commerciales. For much of its history it was located in the capital, before moving in the 1960s to a campus at Jouy-en-Josas, southwest of Paris. It belongs to the French system of grandes ecoles, which select students through competitive entrance examinations after preparatory classes. It offers a range of degrees, including a well-known MBA, and has attracted students from all over the world.
