Construction of MetLife Stadium

10 April 2010

MetLife Stadium is a large outdoor stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, part of the Meadowlands Sports Complex, a short distance from New York City. It was built by the owners of the New York Giants and the New York Jets, replacing the older Giants Stadium, and it is shared by the two teams. It hosted Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014, the first outdoor Super Bowl in a cold-weather northern city. The stadium has also been used for concerts, soccer internationals and the final of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. It was chosen as the venue for the final of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
