Jason Bateman was born on 14 January 1969 in Rye. An American actor and director, Bateman started as a child performer on television in series such as Little House on the Prairie and Silver Spoons. After an uneven period in his twenties, he returned to prominence as Michael Bluth in the comedy series Arrested Development, which began in 2003 and earned him a Golden Globe. His film appearances include Juno, Horrible Bosses and The Gift, which he also directed. He starred in and directed episodes of the crime drama Ozark for Netflix, winning an Emmy Award for directing. He also hosts the podcast SmartLess with Will Arnett and Sean Hayes.
