Charles III was born on 14 November 1948 in Buckingham Palace. King of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms since the death of his mother Elizabeth II in September 2022, Charles was heir apparent for seventy years, the longest of any British heir. He studied at Cambridge, served in the Royal Navy and, as Prince of Wales, founded the Prince's Trust to help young people. He spoke for decades on environmental issues, organic farming, architecture and interfaith dialogue. His marriage to Diana, Princess of Wales, ended in divorce in 1996, and in 2005 he married Camilla Parker Bowles, now Queen Camilla. He was crowned in Westminster Abbey in May 2023.
