Premiere of Mr. Bean

from 1 January 1990 to 31 October 1995

Mr. Bean is a British television comedy series starring Rowan Atkinson as the title character, a childlike, selfish and accident-prone man who gets into trouble over everyday tasks. It premiered on ITV on 1 January 1990, and was created by Atkinson and Richard Curtis. Mr. Bean speaks very little, and the humor depends on visual gags, mime and facial expression, so the series was easy to sell abroad and became popular around the world. A small number of episodes were made between 1990 and 1995, and the teddy bear called Teddy and a green Mini became part of the character. The series was followed by two feature films and an animated series.
