Premiere of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation

from 6 October 2000 to 15 February 2015

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation is an American crime drama created by Anthony E. Zuiker and broadcast on CBS. It follows a team of forensic investigators at the Las Vegas Police Department's crime lab, who solve murders by analysing physical evidence, led by Gil Grissom, played by William Petersen. The programme was known for its stylish visuals and its close-up views inside the body and of evidence. It was a huge ratings success and led to spin-offs set in Miami and New York, as well as a later revival. The series gave rise to what became known as the CSI effect, the idea that jurors began to expect forensic evidence in every trial. It ran for fifteen seasons.
