Founding of G-14

2000

G-14 was a lobbying group of leading European football clubs, founded in 2000, which was created to represent the interests of the richest clubs in dealings with UEFA and FIFA, in particular on questions of television income, player release for national teams and the fixture list. Though it began with fourteen members, it later grew to include eighteen clubs. It was dissolved in 2008 and replaced by a larger body, the European Club Association.
