Shah Rukh Khan was born on 2 November 1965 in New Delhi. An Indian actor, producer and television personality, Khan was born in Delhi and began his career on television before making his film debut in 1992. He became a star with villainous roles in Baazigar and Darr, and then as a romantic lead in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, one of the most successful Indian films of all time. Other major hits include Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Devdas, Chak De India, My Name Is Khan, Pathaan and Jawan. Nicknamed the King of Bollywood, he co-owns the Indian Premier League team Kolkata Knight Riders and the production company Red Chillies Entertainment, and has received India's Padma Shri and France's Legion of Honour.
