Justin Trudeau was born on 25 December 1971 in Ottawa. A Canadian politician and the son of Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, Justin Trudeau worked as a teacher before entering Parliament in 2008 and winning the Liberal Party leadership in 2013. He led the party to victory in 2015 and served as prime minister for nearly ten years. His governments legalized recreational cannabis, introduced carbon pricing and responded to the COVID-19 pandemic, but also faced controversies, including the SNC-Lavalin affair, and the invocation of the Emergencies Act in 2022 against the trucker convoy protests. Declining support and tensions within his party led him to announce his resignation in early 2025, and Mark Carney succeeded him.
