Premiere of Twin Peaks

from 8 April 1990 to 10 June 1991

Twin Peaks is an American television drama created by David Lynch and Mark Frost, set in a small town in Washington State where the body of the teenage homecoming queen Laura Palmer has been found. FBI agent Dale Cooper, played by Kyle MacLachlan, arrives to investigate, and he is drawn into a world of strange locals, secrets and supernatural forces. The series mixed murder mystery, soap opera and surreal horror, with a haunting score by Angelo Badalamenti. It was a sensation when it first aired on ABC but declined in ratings and was cancelled after two seasons. It was followed by the film Fire Walk with Me and a third season in 2017, and it greatly influenced later television.
