Premiere of The Office

from 24 March 2005 to 16 May 2013

The Office was an American television sitcom on NBC, adapted by the writer Greg Daniels from the British series created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant. Filmed in the style of a documentary, it follows the employees of the Scranton branch of the paper company Dunder Mifflin, where the clueless and attention-seeking regional manager Michael Scott, played by Steve Carell, leads a staff that includes the sales representatives Jim and Dwight, played by John Krasinski and Rainn Wilson. The first season was received with mixed reviews, but the show improved and became a critical and popular success. Carell left after the seventh season. The series ran for nine seasons, and it has found a new audience through streaming.
