The Mentalist is an American crime drama created by Bruno Heller and broadcast on CBS. Simon Baker plays Patrick Jane, a former fake psychic who now works as a consultant for the California Bureau of Investigation, using observation and manipulation to solve murders. Robin Tunney plays his serious colleague, Teresa Lisbon. A long-running storyline concerns Jane's search for Red John, the serial killer who murdered his wife and daughter. The series ran for seven seasons, and it drew large audiences, mixing procedural cases with humour and the developing relationship between the two main characters.
