The Last of Us is an American television drama created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann for HBO, based on the 2013 video game of the same name by Naughty Dog. It is set in a United States devastated by a pandemic caused by a mutated fungus that turns people into violent creatures. The story follows Joel, played by Pedro Pascal, a hardened survivor who is asked to escort a teenage girl, Ellie, played by Bella Ramsey, across the country. The series was widely praised for its acting and faithful adaptation, and it won several Emmy Awards. A second season followed in 2025.
