Premiere of Rick and Morty

Rick and Morty is an American animated science-fiction sitcom created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, which premiered on Adult Swim in December 2013. It follows Rick Sanchez, an alcoholic and brilliant scientist, and his anxious teenage grandson Morty Smith, who are drawn into adventures across alternate dimensions and planets. Back at home, the family relationships of Morty's parents Beth and Jerry and his sister Summer provide a counterpoint of domestic comedy. The show mixes dark humor and nihilism with ideas drawn from science fiction, and it developed a large and enthusiastic following. It has won Emmy awards for animation and was renewed for many seasons.
