Premiere of Oggy and the Cockroaches

from 28 November 1998 to 30 January 2019

Oggy and the Cockroaches is a French animated comedy series created by Jean-Yves Raimbaud and produced by the studio Xilam. It follows a lazy, comfort-loving blue cat named Oggy, who is repeatedly tormented by three cockroaches, Joey, Dee Dee and Marky, who invade his house to steal food and make chaos. The comedy relies on slapstick and visual jokes in the tradition of Tom and Jerry, and there is almost no dialogue, so that the show can be understood in any country. It was sold to broadcasters in many countries and became especially popular in places such as India. The series has been followed by spin-offs and a feature film.
