Premiere of Glee

from 19 May 2009 to 20 March 2015

Glee is an American musical comedy-drama television series created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, which aired on Fox. It is set at William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio, and follows the members of a struggling school glee club, New Directions, and their teacher, Will Schuester. Each episode featured cover versions of popular songs, along with original numbers performed by a cast that included Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch. The show was a critical and commercial success and won several Emmys and Golden Globes, and its recordings sold in large numbers. Its popularity declined in later seasons, and the death of Cory Monteith in 2013 led to a tribute episode before the series ended after six seasons.
