The State University of Minas Gerais, known as UEMG, is a public university in Brazil maintained by the government of the state of Minas Gerais. It was created in 1989 and has academic units located in a number of cities across the state, as well as in the capital, Belo Horizonte. It offers undergraduate and graduate courses and is distinct from the federal universities that operate in the same state.
