Death of Prince

21 April 2016

Prince died on 21 April 2016 in Chanhassen, aged 57. An American musician, singer, songwriter and producer, Prince was a prolific innovator who blended funk, rock, pop, soul and new wave into a distinctive style. Albums such as 1999, Purple Rain, which accompanied his film, and Sign o' the Times made him a major star, and he played many instruments on his recordings. He was famed for his stage presence, guitar playing and falsetto voice, and for his long dispute with his record label, in which he changed his name to a symbol. He was found dead at his Paisley Park studio complex in Minnesota.
