Construction of Juventus Stadium

2011

The Juventus Stadium, now officially called the Allianz Stadium, is the home of Juventus in Turin. It was built on the site of the old Stadio delle Alpi, a large athletics-style ground that was widely disliked because of its distance from the pitch. The new stadium is a football-only ground with the stands close to the field, and it was the first club-owned stadium in Serie A. It opened at the start of a very successful period for Juventus, who won a long run of consecutive Italian league titles in the following years. The stadium has also hosted the final of the 2014 UEFA Europa League.
