Larry Page was born on 26 March 1973 in East Lansing. An American computer scientist and entrepreneur, Page co-founded Google with Sergey Brin in 1998, when both were doctoral students at Stanford University. His research on a ranking method for web pages, called PageRank, became the basis for the search engine, and it grew into one of the world's most valuable companies. He served as the company's first chief executive, then again as CEO of Alphabet, the holding company formed in 2015, before stepping down in 2019. He has invested in projects such as flying cars and the company Calico, and he rarely appears in public.
