Demi Lovato was born on 20 August 1992 in Albuquerque. An American singer-songwriter and actress, Lovato started as a child actor on the children's show Barney & Friends and became known through Disney Channel productions such as Camp Rock and Sonny with a Chance. Her pop and pop-rock albums brought hits including Skyscraper, Heart Attack and Sorry Not Sorry. She has also worked as a judge on The X Factor. Lovato has been outspoken about her struggles with bipolar disorder, an eating disorder and addiction, including a near-fatal overdose in 2018, and has become an advocate for mental health awareness. Her openness has made her a prominent voice for young fans facing similar problems.
