Birth of Britney Spears

Britney Spears was born on 2 December 1981 in McComb. An American singer, Spears grew up in Louisiana and started on The Mickey Mouse Club before becoming a global pop star with her debut single ...Baby One More Time in 1998. Her subsequent hits include Oops... I Did It Again, Toxic, for which she won a Grammy Award in 2005, and Womanizer. She performed a long Las Vegas residency, Britney: Piece of Me. In 2008 her father was granted a conservatorship over her personal and financial affairs, which lasted until 2021 and became the subject of the #FreeBritney movement and public debate. She told her story in the 2023 memoir The Woman in Me.
