The Wikipedia Monument is a sculpture in the Polish town of Slubice, close to the border with Germany. It was designed by the Armenian sculptor Mihran Hakobyan and unveiled in 2014 in a public ceremony. It is the first monument anywhere dedicated to Wikipedia and shows four figures holding up a puzzle globe, the symbol of the encyclopaedia, to honour the people who write and edit it. The idea came from a university cooperation centre in the town, which wanted to thank the volunteer community. The statue stands in a small square near the Collegium Polonicum, a joint institute of Polish and German universities.
