HotCat is a small JavaScript tool used on Wikimedia projects such as Wikimedia Commons and Wikipedia that makes it easier for editors to add, remove and change the categories of a page without opening the full editing form. It is a user gadget that can be switched on in a user's preferences, and it adds suggestions as the editor types. The tool helps volunteers keep large collections of images and articles organized into categories.
