Guardian: The Lonely and Great God, also known as Goblin, is a South Korean fantasy romance series broadcast on tvN and written by Kim Eun-sook. Gong Yoo plays Kim Shin, a general from the Goryeo era who is cursed with immortality and can end his life only if he finds his destined bride, a human girl played by Kim Go-eun. Lee Dong-wook appears as the grim reaper who shares a house with him, and Yoo In-na as a sunny landlady. The drama combines romance, comedy and the supernatural with themes of death and reincarnation. It was one of the highest-rated programmes in the history of Korean cable television.
