Crash Landing on You is a South Korean television drama broadcast on the cable channel tvN and streamed internationally on Netflix. It tells the story of a South Korean heiress, played by Son Ye-jin, who is blown off course while paragliding and lands in North Korea, where a captain in the army, played by Hyun Bin, hides her and helps her to return home. The romance mixes comedy, suspense and a gently humanising look at everyday life north of the border. The series was one of the most-watched dramas in the history of Korean cable television and found a large audience abroad. It became a key example of the global spread of Korean television.
