The Waldstadion in Frankfurt is a football stadium in the city's municipal forest, the Stadtwald, and the home of Eintracht Frankfurt. It was built in the 1920s together with sports facilities for the city, and it was extensively rebuilt in the 1970s and again in the early 2000s, when a retractable roof was added. It has carried several sponsor names in recent decades, though supporters often keep calling it the Waldstadion. The ground has hosted matches in the World Cups of 1974 and 2006, as well as the final of the 2011 Women's World Cup. It has been admired for its atmosphere, and the roof can be closed and opened in a few minutes.
