Goodison Park in Liverpool was the home ground of Everton Football Club for more than a century. It was built in 1892 after Everton left Anfield, following a dispute with the landlord, and it was among the first major purpose-built football stadiums in England. The ground later hosted games at the 1966 World Cup, including a semi-final, as well as FA Cup semi-finals and matches at the 1996 European Championship. Its stands were designed in part by Archibald Leitch, the leading stadium architect of his time. Everton moved to a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock on the Mersey in 2025.
