Da Nang International Airport serves the city of Da Nang on the coast of central Vietnam. During the Vietnam War the site was developed into a major air base by the United States, and it became one of the busiest airfields in the world at that time. After the war it was converted to civilian use and today it is one of the main airports in Vietnam, with a new international terminal that opened in 2011.
