BC Place is a large covered stadium in downtown Vancouver, British Columbia, built when the city was preparing for the Expo 86 world fair. It opened with an air-supported fabric roof, the largest in the world at the time, which required constant air pressure and deflated after a tear in 2007. The stadium was later rebuilt with a retractable roof supported by cables, and it reopened after this renovation in 2011. BC Place is the home of the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League and of the football team Vancouver Whitecaps. It hosted the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup final, and matches of the 2026 World Cup.
