Premiere of Masha and the Bear

7 January 2009

Masha and the Bear is a Russian animated series produced by Animaccord Studio and created by Oleg Kuzovkov. It follows a mischievous and energetic little girl named Masha, who causes constant trouble for a retired circus bear living in the forest. The episodes are short and largely without dialogue, which helped them travel across languages. The series was broadcast in Russia and then spread internationally, especially through online video platforms, where its episodes have collected billions of views. It has been dubbed into many languages, and spin-offs and merchandise have followed, making it one of the most popular children's animated series of its time.
