FC Kuban Krasnodar was a Russian professional football club based in Krasnodar, in the Kuban region of southern Russia. Founded in the late 1920s, it spent most of the Soviet period in lower divisions before reaching the Russian Premier League after the end of the USSR, where it became a regular and reasonably successful side in the 2010s and took part in European competition. Severe financial problems led to the loss of its professional licence, and the club was dissolved in 2018, ending its existence. Football in Krasnodar was afterwards carried on by the city's other main club.
