Creation of Android TV

25 June 2014

Android TV is a smart television platform developed by Google, which was introduced at the Google I/O conference in June 2014. It is built on the Android operating system and replaces the earlier Google TV, with an interface designed for use with a remote control and voice search, and with apps for streaming services and games. It runs on televisions made by manufacturers such as Sony and Philips and on set-top boxes, and it can use Chromecast technology to send content from phones. Google later renamed its television software Google TV, with a new design that brings together content from different services.
